and has put together a range of the stuff featuring mammoth motifs, black diamonds and lots of chains. It’s called Albion Trinketry and there are some not so good pictures here.

Horsley is no more, and like a lot of people I miss him. Today I came across this, and it made me miss him a little bit more.

Dame Vivienne Westwood

has a new project. It’s called 100 Days of Active Resistance, and is about watching less television, seeing more art (but not contemporary art and probably not earlier prehistoric art, but preferably French 18th c. painting), reading classics rather than the latest best-sellers, slowing down, and not being enslaved to international branding.

The project is sponsored by Lee Jeans and Vivienne Westwood clothing.

Barnaby Rogerson

meets Tim Mackintosh-Smith, in San’a. What could be better? TMS has a new book out, Landfalls, the last in his Ibn Battutah trilogy.

p.s. as Tim Mackintosh-Smith made a cameo in my eccentrics book this gobbet belongs to two categories. Which is amazing. Like an eclipse, only more rare. I’m off to celebrate.
