Henry Hemming is the author of five works of non-fiction including the Sunday Times bestseller M, published as Agent M in North America, the Dolman Travel Award-shortlisted Misadventure in the Middle East and Churchill’s Iceman, published in North America as The Ingenious Mr Pyke, where it was a New York Times bestseller.

He has written for The Sunday TimesDaily TelegraphDaily MailThe Times, The Economist,  FT Magazine and The Washington Post, and has given interviews on Radio 4’s Today Programme and NBC’s Today Show and spoken at schools, festivals and companies including Chalke Valley History Festival, The School of Life, RDF Media and the Science Museum.

He was born and brought up in London, before studying History at Newcastle University and graduating with a 1st in 2002. He spent the next year making and selling paintings in the Middle East, followed by several years working in an art gallery and a theatre production company, plus a brief stint as an artist (which was a lot harder than he imagined it would be), and in 2008 he was able to start writing full-time. He lives in London with his wife and two children.
